How about that dismissiveness?
I think SueZen, one of the commenters, addressed it best with this:
I could wish you had gone to experts outside of Maue (colleague of Joe Bastardi), Spencer, and Cliff Mass, who have good reputations as weather analysts but are well known as unskeptical “skeptics” of climate change and all the scientific analysis and events that are piling up in support of the trends we face, which it is no longer possible or useful to deny. Robert Scribbler is always interesting, and has worked to improve his scientific credentials. Beckwith does exaggerate, but he’s worried, as are we all.
You can see from the comments here that fake skeptics have seized on your article and taken it very far from your intention. It is time to stop trying to be “reasonable” and point out that we all need to work to solve these problems as a human community in the face of real and present danger. It may be a couple of decades, but that is not the same as nonexistent.
Well, maybe not “best”. She cuts them alot of slack. I think they obtained exactly what they intended. Furthermore, we don’t know if Beckwith is exaggerating or not, maybe he is but what if he’s not?
